About the Department

The M.Sc. Forestry & Wildlife PG degree programme was started from the year 2005 in Bastar Parishar, Jagdalpur, Pt Ravishankar University, Raipur but since 2008, it is running by the Bastar Vishwavidyalaya, Jagdalpur, District-Bastar (Chhattisgarh). The school of studies in Forestry & Wildlife is fully dedicated to providing & spreading knowledge about the subjects of forestry, agro forestry, NWFPs including medicinal & aromatic plants, environments, biodiversity, wasteland development & plantation forestry, and wildlife through education & research.

 

 

Mandate

  • To developed professionals for sustainable forest development and sustained management of natural resources.
  • To generate human resource through excellence in Teaching and Research.
  • To generate trained manpower in forestry.
  • To impart knowledge on conservation of natural flora & fauna.

 

 

Academic Programme

  • M.Sc. (Forestry & Wildlife)
    • Duration- 02 Years (4 Semester) degree programme.
    • 30 seats are available for admission in each academic year.
    • Ph.D. Programme  was start in Forestry & Wildlife and 9 students are admitted in course work  session 2014-15.

 

 

Admission Eligibility

  • Science Graduate & secure more than 45% of marks in theory.

 

 

Admission Procedure

  • On the basis of merit and CG State Govt. reservation rules.
  • Admission form available from last week of June to 15th July.
