The History Department at Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya, Bastar, Jagdalpur, is dedicated to cultivating a deep understanding of historical events, processes, and perspectives. It emphasises fostering critical thinking and analytical skills while encouraging students to explore the nuances of history in its diverse contexts. The department offers B.A. and M.A. courses in history that deal with a wide range of historical periods and themes, with a particular focus on regional, national, and global histories. The School of History Studies, SMKV, strives to provide its students with comprehensive historical knowledge and increase awareness of the past and its heritage through teaching, research, and service activities conducted at the international, national, and regional levels. It aims to develop students' excellent academic ability, transferable skills, employability, and intellectual curiosity.
