Chhattisgarh is a Mineral rich state and Bastar with its diverse geology and rich mineral deposit single handedly represent Chhattisgarh.Bastar Has Iron Ore, Indian;s only Tin Mine, Limestone, Bauxite resource, world famous Kutumsar Cave which is an excellent exaple of Karst Development.To strengthen the knowledge of tribal people of Bastar to better understand and utilize the mineral resources Department of Geology established on Shaheed Mahendra Karma University in 2023-24 with 4 Year Undergraduate Programme Under New education Policy (NEP 2020) and 2 year Post Graduation course. Intake Capacity of PG and UG is 30 And 160 respectively.
